HANJAFRIEND · PRIVACY

Privacy policy

Applies to Malangsoft’s HanjaFriend app for iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo. Last updated: November 1, 2026.

Learning information

HanjaFriend does not require a developer-operated account. Per-character reading and writing attempts, assessment results, learning dates and review information are kept in the app’s on-device storage. Handwriting images are not saved or sent to advertising services. Grade selection and unfinished handwriting remain specific to each device.

Apple’s private CloudKit database is used to continue learning records across devices signed in to the same iCloud account. The developer does not receive your iCloud password. iCloud features depend on your account, network, system settings and service availability. Deleting the app does not guarantee deletion of information already stored in iCloud. To manage that information, check your device’s iCloud storage settings or contact us below.

Advertising and privacy choices

The character list may display Google AdMob banner ads. Memorization, handwriting and assessment screens do not display ads. The app is configured not to request personalized ads and limits the maximum ad content rating to General (G). It does not use interstitial ads or rewarded videos. These settings do not guarantee that every ad is appropriate or that third parties process no data.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform may process network information such as IP addresses, device and app information, ad impressions and interactions, diagnostics and privacy-choice status to deliver ads, prevent fraud, diagnose issues and handle consent choices. Non-personalized ads may also involve this processing. Learning results and handwriting are not included in ad requests. The app does not request the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission prompt.

Google privacy messages are shown where required. Ads are requested only after the SDK confirms that requests are permitted. Learning features remain available if consent checks or ad loading fail. If the SDK requires a way to change privacy choices, you can revisit them through the ad privacy settings on the character list screen.

For information about Google’s data processing, retention and how to exercise your rights, see the Google Privacy Policy and the explanation of how Google uses information from partner apps. Technical details about SDK data categories are available in the Google iOS data disclosure guide. The developer does not guarantee a fixed retention period for third-party processing.
